
Recently, Oskar Ho, founder of the IAI Global Design Award and chairman of the Asia-Pacific Designers Federation, along with the national project director, visited the Central Academy of Fine Arts (CAFA) and reunited with Feng Mengbo, dean of the School of Experimental Art. Both parties exchanged academic achievements, with the IAI Design Award Yearbook presented to the academy for preservation. They also reached a consensus on future collaborations in academic co-construction, cross-disciplinary innovation, and international design exchange.

In the afternoon, Chairman Oskar Ho and the national project director proceeded to Tsinghua Academy of Arts for an in-depth discussion with Professor Fang Xiaofeng, the deputy dean. The conversation revolved around design education, industry ecosystem development, and competition brand growth, yielding forward-looking and constructive professional insights. These discussions injected new momentum into the high-quality development of the IAI Design Award and the Asia-Pacific Designers Federation.

In the evening, Chairman Oskar Ho and the project director revisited the National Stadium, "Bird’s Nest," which had hosted the IAI Design Award ceremonies for two consecutive years, witnessing the glorious moments of numerous Chinese and international designers. Returning after three years, their unwavering commitment to building a world-class design exchange platform was further strengthened.

The day’s itinerary—filled with academic exchanges, reunions with old friends, and revisiting familiar places—was immensely fruitful. Moving forward, the IAI Design Award and the Asia-Pacific Designers Federation will continue collaborating with top art institutions and academic forces to deepen partnerships, foster innovation, and propel Chinese design onto a broader global stage.
