Xiamen, August 9, 2025 — the "Design New Silk Road · Creativity Connects the World" – First Exhibition of IAI Award-Winning Works' Overseas Journey officially kicked off at the IAI Silk Road International Creative Design Center in Xiamen Area of Fujian Free Trade Zone. Co-hosted by Xiamen IAI Global Design Award Executive Committee and Phoenix Collections, with special support from the Management Committee of Xiamen Area of Fujian Free Trade Zone and strategic cooperation with Asia Pacific Designers Federation (APDF), the event aims to promote Chinese design to the global market via the "New Silk Road" and build an international exchange platform.

At the opening ceremony, guests including Xu Xiaoxi, Deputy Director of Xiamen Huli District Bureau of Culture and Tourism; Oska Ho, Chairman of Asia Pacific Designers Federation (APDF) / IAI Global Design Award Executive Committee; and Lü Guoqiang, CEO of Phoenix Collections / Editor-in-Chief of Phoenix TV Digital Media Channel, jointly cut the ribbon for the exhibition. They also witnessed the unveiling of "IAI Silk Road International Creative Design Center" and the launch of the "Design Export Resource Library" platform.

The exhibition consists of three core zones:

"The Vessel Conveys the Principle" Physical Exhibition: Showcasing industrial design works integrating technology and aesthetics, including IAI Best Intelligent Manufacturing Design Award winner diiib Enjoy the showerhead; IAI Ceramic Innovation Gold Award New Form, New Consciousness; and IAI Best Visual Communication & Brand Design Award winner Yuan Qi Zhao Huan TCM Cream Of The Formula.

"New Words from Pictures" Image Exhibition: Systematically presenting award-winning works in architecture, product design, visual communication, and other fields.

"Design Creativity" Digital Exhibition: Offering audiences an immersive experience of the cultural connotations and technological breakthroughs behind the designs through interactive videos

Oska Ho, Chairman of Asia Pacific Designers Federation (APDF), emphasized: "The IAI Silk Road International Creative Design Center will serve as an 'escort port' for designers, providing one-stop services such as copyright registration and cross-border transactions; while the 'Design Export Resource Library' will act as a 'navigation device', integrating global channels, policies, and cases to facilitate efficient overseas expansion of Chinese design." He noted that design exchange is two-way: it is essential to promote Chinese creativity to the world and absorb global wisdom, so as to inject lasting vitality into the "New Silk Road".

At the event, 10 representatives including German designer Inès Consuela Essen were awarded the "IAI Design Export Pioneer" certificates. Their works will be included in the resource library as the first batch of cases and promoted globally.

IAI award-winning designers are interviewed

Lü Guoqiang, CEO of Phoenix Collections, stated that leveraging the policy advantages of the free trade zone, the platform is committed to addressing cross-border cultural barriers and providing full-chain support for international design IPs entering China and Chinese creativity going global, including bonded exhibitions, logistics, and copyright services. He revealed that in the next three years, the platform will join hands with IAI to focus on supporting the internationalization of 20 Chinese design brands.
