BrazilPavilion of World Expo Shanghai

World Expo,2010

Brazilian Pavilion, Shanghai, China

The  design of the Brazil Pavilion at the ShanghaiWorld Expo was inspired by the Bird’s Nest of the Beijing Olympic Games. Thepavilion is decorated with environmentally friendly recyclable wood, forming anetwork structure resembling a “bird’s nest” and, just like a lush tropicaljungle. Fernando brandao, the designer of the Brazil Pavilion at the  World Expo, said that he likes traditional Chinese architecture very much, andpays special attention to traditional wooden buildings and architecturaldetails. He perfectly integrated traditional Chinese wooden structures andgreen grassland in Brazil into the architectural design of the Brazil Pavilion..

Themuseum mainly includes exhibition halls such as "City Scenery","Dynamic City, Vibrant Brazil" and "Happy Brazil", as wellas a series of themed corridors. Through high-tech means and various cultural, artistic, commercial and other activities, The pavilion shows the full dynamicpulse of urban life.

Livraria Cultura

The United Nations international building, Sao Paulo, Brazil

In the bookstore in Brazil, people began to have a differentrelationship with books, and established a special identity between people andbooks in the whole space .Fernando brandao broke the previous rule that peopleneeded to get along quietly with books, turned the bookstore into a very livelyplace. The bookstore has reserved some space for theaters and cafes. In the majorcities in Brazil, this bookstore has become a gathering place for leisure. Alot of people come and go every day, with more than 20,000 visitors a day. Itis a very successful business case. People feel comfortable in the same publicspace. Some people got married in the bookstores, and pregnant women with poorliving conditions chose to give birth in bookstores. Fernando brandao was verymoved when he heard that. It meant that they have created a humanized space, and they have successfully used their way to bring harmony to people.
