September 14^th, APDF held the first conference of 2014 IAI Design Award in Nanjing Hexi Wanda Hilton Hotel, during the activity, APDF also held the exhibition to reviewprevious design competitions, the establishment of APDF Jiangsu representative office, and APDF Nanjing author forum activities. The guests who attended this activity not only included the core members of APDF, Najing famous designers (Tony, Yuzhuan Lin, Rusong Ma, Laoshi, Wenxing Lu, Haoyi Sun, Minsheng Wen etc.) and famous design organizationrepresentatives from other places, designers, but also teachers and students representativesfrom art design universities and colleges. Many media and journalist reported the whole process of this activity, including Nanjing TV, Modern Newspaper, Sina Home and Baidu etc.

Because this press conference and review exhibition are the first one after transition of IAI Design Award in 2014 and it is also the first regional branch organization after APDFpreplanned its orientation, it was paid more attention by designers from Najing and otherplaces. Although this activity confined the number of participants, there were still more than 300 hundred guests from Jiangsu and other provinces attended this activity.    

As the most international influencing academic organization in Asian Pacific region, APDF not only established IAI Design Award which is a world famous competition brand, but also has world class experts, scholars and excellent designers from all over the world participatein the platform building. The establishment of APDF branch organization in Nanjing contains unique meaning especially in today that the government pays more attention to cultural creative industry. In the future, APDF will as a motivation platform to lead China design industry realize higher target. Through the branch organizations both in China and other Asian Pacific regions, thereby closely connected with the local government, universities and colleges, and related corporations to build ‘APDF Urban Design Platform’, which serves intelligent city construction, Ecological protection and construction, design and creativity, exhibitions, talent cultivation, brand building and cultural communications.
