On the afternoon of March 20, 2025, a grand launch ceremony for the Xiamen Free Trade Zone Phoenix Art-Tech Cultural Bonded Sharing Platform and Jingdezhen Ceramic Culture Overseas Development Base was held in the Xiamen Free Trade Zone. During the event, the Asia Pacific Designers Federation (APDF) and Phoenix Art-Tech Co., Ltd. officially signed a strategic cooperation agreement to jointly establish the "IAI Silk Road International Innovation Design Center," infusing international design momentum into cultural exports.

Chen Kelong, Deputy Secretary of the Jingdezhen Municipal Party Committee and Mayor; Zheng Yuelin, Member of the Standing Committee of the Xiamen Municipal People's Congress and Deputy Director; Gao Xiaoyun, Deputy Mayor of Jingdezhen; He Dongning, Secretary of the Party Leadership Group and Director of the Xiamen Free Trade Zone Management Committee; Oskar Ho, Chairman of APDF; and Lv Guoqiang, Chairman of Phoenix Art-Tech Co., Ltd., attended the signing ceremony.

Powerful Collaboration: Design Empowers Cultural Export
The IAI Silk Road International Innovation Design Center signed during this event is a milestone project deepening cooperation between the Xiamen Free Trade Zone National Cultural Export Base and APDF. Relying on APDF's top global designer resources and the international influence of the IAI Design Award, combined with the cross-border service advantages of the Phoenix Art-Tech Cultural Bonded Sharing Platform, the center will focus on three core functions:

1. Design Innovation Incubation: Providing international design upgrade services for traditional Chinese cultural IPs in fields such as ceramics, arts and crafts, and digital arts, promoting the fusion of traditional techniques with modern creativity.

2. International Resource Connection: Leveraging APDF's designer network spanning over 50 countries to establish a "Belt and Road" design trade corridor, facilitating the entry of local cultural products into global high-end markets.

3. Intellectual Property Protection: Offering one-stop services such as artwork copyright registration and cross-border IP transactions to ensure the compliance and commercial value of cultural exports.

Dual-Zone Collaboration: Traditional Culture and Free Trade Platform Jointly Build a New Pattern for Overseas Expansion
Concurrently with the event, the strategic cooperation between the Xiamen Free Trade Zone and Jingdezhen National Ceramic Culture Inheritance and Innovation Pilot Zone was further deepened. Through the joint construction of the Jingdezhen Ceramic Culture Overseas Development Base, both parties explored the "cultural origination + free trade empowerment" model:
Xiamen Free Trade Zone Phoenix Art-Tech Platform: Leveraging bonded warehousing, cross-border transactions, art finance, and other full-chain services to reduce the overseas expansion costs for Jingdezhen ceramic enterprises.
IAI Silk Road Innovation Design Center: Introducing APDF international designer teams to provide globally aesthetic design solutions for ceramic products, enhancing brand premium capabilities.

Future Prospects: Building a "Super Hub" for Cultural Export
With the establishment of the IAI Silk Road International Innovation Design Center in 2024, the cultural export ecosystem of the Xiamen Free Trade Zone was further improved. In the future, the center will collaborate with APDF's annual "IAI Design Award" selection, global design forums, and other activities to continuously attract international creative talents and industrial resources, facilitating the upgrade of Chinese culture from "going out" to "going in."

After the event, the Chairman of APDF stated, "The establishment of the IAI Silk Road Center marks the formal integration of design power into the cultural export ecosystem chain. We will use design as a bridge to showcase contemporary expressions of Chinese culture to the world." From the "Porcelain Road" to the "Design Silk Road," the collaboration between Xiamen and Jingdezhen is writing a new chapter in the fusion of traditional culture with modern economy and trade.
