We’ve talked a lot about religious architecture, such as Burgos Municipality designed by Spanish architecture firm VZ Arquitectos, which is modern and introverted; Hiroshi Nakamura designed a small church in Saitama Prefecture, Japan, with a quiet beauty; in addition, the second restoration of Tokyo’s Tsunyuji Temple resembles a Japanese casual courtyard.

Antarctica as the coldest, windiest, driest place in the world, can not stop designers from bringing the aesthetics of modern architecture here. With some of the coolest buildings in the world, perhaps in the future humans will be able to take such designs to more demanding alien worlds.

Led by Ma Yansong, MAD architects unveils their design for Jiaxing’s “Train Station in the Forest.” Having begun construction at the end of 2019, the project is expected to be completed by July 1st. 2021.
