In 2020, Colombian architect Mazantti Giancarlo won the first IAI Most Creativity Award , form then on ,this award has increasingly become the focus of the international design community. On June 18, 2021, the 13th IAI Design Award Ceremony was held in the conference center of Xiamen Lohkah Hotel & Spa, the second Most Creativity Award was awarded to Laurent Troost, a Belgian architect from Brazil. When the host announced that the winner of the IAI Most Creativity Award of the year was Belgian architect Laurent Troost, and when Laurent's winning works and his photos were shown on the screens, there was a round of applause from the audience in order to express congratulations to Laurent, the atmosphere reached a climax. Because the COVID19 pandemic is still going on around the whole world during this event, Laurent could not accept the award in person, but our sponsor arranged another guest to accept this trophy for him.Dai Zhiwang, deputy director of the Publicity Department of Xiamen Municipal Committee of the CPC, and Oskar Ho, chairman of IAI, jointly presented the award to the winners.

On June 17-20, 2021, the 4th IAI International Design Festival & Art Xiamen and the 13th IAI Design Award Ceremony held in the beautiful Ludao Xiamen. Around 80,000 people, including IAI award-winning designers and people from the art industry or who are interested in art visited this exhibition. This ceremony was another grand and unique international design event since the third IAI International Design Festival successfully held in Tianjin in 2020.In addition to the IAI award-winning designers, the relevant leaders of the Xiamen Municipal Government, the design-related industry associations of Xiamen, Fujian province, design colleges, business circles, financial circles and the media also attended the IAI International Design Festival & Art Xiamen Opening Ceremony and IAI Award Ceremony activities.

On the morning of June 18, 2021, IAI Design Forum was held in Xiamen International Conference & Exhibition Center. The theme of the forum was "The unknown design in the future after the pandemic". Six designers and architects from different design fields and countries, including China, the United States, Belgium, Colombia, the Netherlands and other countries, gave their speeches towards the topic. This is also the second international design forum organized in the form of offline and online since the pandemic started in 2020.

The 4th IAI International Design Festival and the 13th IAI Design Award Ceremony will be held in Xiamen , which is also the first time IAI has held the award ceremony in Fujian since its establishment. Xiamen is an important center city , port and tourist city along the southeast coast, the city of high-quality innovative and entrepreneurship, high level of ecological garden city, meanwhile, Xiamen is one of the first four special economic zones, set by the State Council, "One Belt And One Road" sea and land transport hub and Hub for People-to-People Exchange. Xiamen was awarded Innovation Base of BRICS New Industrial Revolution Partnership on December 2020. Xiamen will usher in unprecedented huge historical development opportunity.
