The project is located north of Xinling Street in Liangxin Village by the Liuxi River in Conghua, Guangzhou, bordered by Provincial Highway S355 to the south and adjacent to a new resettlement residential area to the north, covering a site area of 0.9 hectares. Drawing inspiration from the natural landscape and local cultural resources, the design adopts the theme "Scenery into Painting: Rediscovering a Sense of Belonging in the Rural Wilderness." Through the deconstruction and reinterpretation of regional elements such as mountain-water vistas, pastoral fields, wild grasses, Lingnan's rural heritage, and vernacular vitality, the project employs a "light intervention, deep dialogue" design approach. This methodology aims to let nature thrive, allow culture to breathe, and sustain dynamic vitality. Utilizing locally sourced materials like riverbed stones, blue bricks, and bamboo timber, combined with Lingnan's regional architectural style (Lingnan being the cultural region of South China), the design creates a public space landscape organized into five functional zones: Banyan Tree Theater - A communal gathering space under ancient trees, Joyful Playground - Recreational and fitness facilities, Memory Wall - Cultural exhibition of local history, Wild Grass Promenade - Ecological corridor showcasing native flora, Forest Discovery Zone - Interactive natural exploration area, This multifunctional complex serves surrounding communities as a hub for market gatherings, leisure activities, cultural displays, and fitness pursuits. It provides both resettled residents and local villagers with a vibrant space that preserves rural memories and fosters social connections.
