Interior design of Nanchangdong Railway Station
China Railway Construction Engineering Group Decoration Design Institute Southern Branch Xu Chengmin, Yang Xingfang,Yu Shipeng

Nanchangdong Station embodies the concept of“Evening glow and soaring wings, auspicious signs unfolding, ”blending urban culture with modern design to present a distinctive gateway image. The architectural style inherits the lightness and stability of traditional flying eaves while incorporating contemporary elements to achieve a "Contemporary Traditional Style" expression. The ceiling of the station’s waiting room features a "triple arch" design. To enhance the architectural layering, the ceiling incorporates a combination of gradient perforated aluminum panels, double-curved aluminum panels, and aluminum slats. Between the spans, fully automated smoke exhaust glass skylights are embedded, capable of adjusting their open and close states based on light intensity and weather conditions, seamlessly combining functionality with aesthetics. The interplay of light and shadow creates a space that exudes a dynamic, ethereal beauty through contrasts between solid and void. The ticket-checking canopy draws inspiration from the shape of the Ganjiang River wupeng boats and the streamlined form of the Fuxing (CR Series),featuring a clean and flowing design that highlights the fusion of culture and technology. The interior design draws from the imagery of Wang Bo’s famous line, “The evening glow merges with lone wild geese in flight.” incorporating landmark elements such as Tengwang Pavilion and Qingshan Lake. This approach showcases a harmonious blend of classical poetic charm and modern design.
