In recent years, the office has focused on the conception, development and deployment of technologically complex design projects for a variety of different sectors. These projects, coordinated and made compatible by the firm's technical teams, include all the engineering

specializations that make up a detailed design project, incorporating, throughout the development stages, sustainable solutions.

Roberto Loeb was born on the 17th of May, 1941, in São Paulo, Brazil. In 1965, he graduated in Architecture from Mackenzie University, where he later returned as a professor in Architectural Design.His designs earned him 1st place for the following projects in São Paulo: the H.Stern Headquarters, Messianic Municipal Church of Brasil, Natura Industrial Complex, Unibanco Headquarters and BASF Headquarters. These last two were in conjunction with other architects.

He has participated in many International Competitions, including the Indira Ghandi National Center for the Arts in New Delhi, India; “Le Murate” in Florence, Italy; New York Waterfront Competition; the New Acropolis Museum in Athens, Greece; the Library of Alexandria in Egypt; and, the New Capital for a United Germany in Berlin.

He has exhibited his designs in Paris, at a collective showing titled 30 Brazilian Architects at the invitation of the IFA (French Institute of Architecture). He has taken part as an official guest and conference participant in the XVII International Congress of Architecture in Montreal, Canada, giving a speech on “Architecture and Politics. As the guest architect, he presented his designs at the School of Architecture, University of Waterloo, in Canada and at the Cranbrook Academy of Art, in Bloomfield Hills, Michigan. In Brazil, he has presented his work at exclusive exhibitions in the São Paulo Museum of Art (MASP) and in the Rio de Janeiro Museum of Modern Art (MAM-RJ).

Together with the Ministry of Foreign Relations, he has designed and produced exhibitions for the “Department of Trade Fairs and Exhibitions by the Home Office at the Debret Gallery in Paris, Furniture Mart in New York; exhibited a Brazilian fashion show at the Pierre Hotel in New York, Brazilian industrialized products in Lagos, Nigeria, Santa Cruz de La Sierra, Cochambamba, Bolivia and Brussels; as well as been responsible for an exhibit of the Brazilian countryside in Buenos Aires, Argentina and a Brazilian industrial exhibition in Brussels, Belgium.

Roberto Loeb developed and produced the designs and layout for the new headquarters of Companhia de Cervejas Brahma, Gessy Lever, Casas Pernambucanas, Alpargatas Santista, Camargo Corrêa, Mckinsey, Grupo Garantia, Multibrás, Cimento Tupi, Sempar, the Consulate General of Canada, Softbank and Intersystems do Brasil, São Carlos Participações, the restructuring of the Ericsson Centre (an administrative centre), GP Capitales Privados de México, in México City, and the Russell Reynolds Associates, Goldman Sachs offices , GP Investimentos for which his firm was hired to develop all layout changes since 2004, and the Ericsson Puerto Rico offices that were inaugurated in the first semester of 2012.

Roberto Loeb was responsible for detailing the architectural design of the Meliá Hotel and Convention Center, World Trade Center in São Paulo and authored the designs for the new Hopi Hari Theme Park in Vinhedo-SP, a project developed in conjunction with International Theme Park Service that spans an area of approximately 200,000 m2.

On behalf of the São Paulo State Government, he created the standard model for the “Poupatempo” Citizens Service Center, as well as authoring the designs of the Sé and Santo Amaro branches, the former of which is located in the Finance Ministry building.

The design projects of a cultural nature for which Mr Loeb has been responsible are particularly notable, for example, the Centro da Cultura Judaica (São Paulo State Jewish Cultural Center) and the Itaú Cultural Building - both in São Paulo, as well as the Santander Cultural Building in Porto Alegre, in the State of Rio Grande do Sul.

He has also conceptualized and produced designs for the homeless and/or people at risk, as in his Projeto Oficina Boracea, Minha Rua Minha Casa and Projeto Anchieta. In recognition of these projects he received the “Architect for the Common Good” award from the Mayor of the City of São Paulo, Marta Suplicy, in October 2003.

In May 2003, he took part in the International Creativity Competition promoted by the National Union of Ukrainian Architects in conjunction with other national and regional architectural bodies from Brazil and Eastern European countries. The aim of the competition was to choose the best professionals from various different areas in architecture for 2001 and 2002. Approximately 50 architects took part, representing the Ukraine, Russia, Romania, France and Brazil. Roberto Loeb participated with his Itaú Cultural Building, Jewish Cultural Center, Santander Cultural Building and Natura designs, and won the best foreign architect award. The prize giving ceremony took place on 29th May 2003, in Odessa, when he received the “Creation Statue”, made by the sculptor Mikhael Reva.

In 2004 Roberto Loeb was invited to become a member of the jury panel for the 2004 awards, and was put in charge of giving the closing speech on 26th May at a ceremony held in Odessa, Ukraine.

In January 2004 he was invited by the television program Fantástico, produced by Rede Globo, to present a proposal for São Paulo’s 500th anniversary. The subject matter of the submitted proposal was an “Aerial Subway’, a way of making São Paulo’s public transport system a viable alternative for the majority of the population.

In 2007 Roberto Loeb was a jury member for the second Living Steel International Competition, a major international competition, alongside architects such as Glen Murcutt, Charles Correa and Jaime Lerner.

Together with Luis Capote, he was hired by the Municipality of São Paulo to retrofit the “São Vito Building” (with an approximate area of 21,000 m2) in downtown São Paulo, next to the Central Market and Museum of the City.

He was invited to exhibit his design for the Natura Factory NEN at the itinerant “Quadro da Arquitetura Brasileira” exhibition, September/2004, promoted by the Brazilian Embassy in Bogotá, Colombia.

Later, that same month, he was invited by the Swiss Holcim Foundation to present his Natura Factory-NEN design at the World Sustainability Forum and took part in a round table with international designers on sustainable buildings from other regions of the world.

He has also taken part in the 3rd Architecture Biennale in Asunción, Paraguay, October 2004, representing contemporary Brazilian Architecture with his exhibition.

At the invitation of the São Paulo Biennale Foundation he was responsible for organizing the Brazilian Pavilion at the 9th Exhibit of International Architecture in Venice, Italy, in addition to exhibiting his own set of designs at the exhibition, which was held in November 2004.

The São Paulo Biennial Foundation invited him again, this time to participate as a curator for the Brazilian Pavilion at the 11th Exhibit of International Architecture in Venice, Italy, held from 14th September to 23rd November, 2008.

In June 2008 MAHLE Metal Leve S.A.'s New Research and Technology Center was inaugurated in Jundiaí, in the state of São Paulo, and we were responsible for developing the architectural and interior designs as well as for coordinating the complementary MEP and structural designs and providing technical follow-up and construction management services.

Since 2005, Roberto Loeb developed designs for the new Fator 5 Perfume Factory in Arujá, São Paulo state; IFF (International Flavors & Fragrances) New Center of Creativity and administrative offices in Alphaville, São Paulo state, the Weishaupt do Brasil administrative centre in Indaiatuba-SP, AGRENCO administrative and research buildings in Alto Araguaia-MT and Caarapó-MS, the água PRANA mineral water bottling plant in Campos do Jordão-SP and the São Paulo Zoo Environmental Education Centre in São Paulo-SP.

He has also developed the design project for the new AVON Distribution Centre in São Paulo State, with a built area of 90,000 m2, and was responsible for the modernization of the CENESP [São Paulo Business Centre], the urban planning for the Grupo Equipav residential complex and industrial park, and the new Cocamar Headquarters in Maringá, Parana State. He also designed the Banco Santander Data Center for Latin America, in Campinas; the architecture and technical projects for Knorr-Bremse’s New Industrial Plant for Brazil, in Itupeva and for the Sicpa Paints and Systems New Industrial Plant, in Santa Cruz, Rio de Janeiro. His designs for the Bayer ECB (Eco Commercial Building) in the city of São Paulo used innovative and efficient solutions in sustainable construction, part of which included the Guarapiranga Canal Bridge, sponsored by Bayer. Roberto Loeb designed Mahle’s New Distribution Center, in Limeira, the conceptual project for the Espaço Natura Industrial Expansion, in Cajamar and the Cine Belas Artes cinema renovation in São Paulo City. In Sao José dos Campos, he authored the designs for the industrial park and expansion of the airfreight terminal. He was also responsible for the architectural and technical design projects for ThyssenKrupp Presta Brasil’s New Industrial Plant in Poços de Caldas, Marco Boni’s New Factory in Itapecerica da Serra, Rishon Cosméticos’ New Factory in Goiana and MRV-LOG’s Office Park in Pirituba.

In addition to authoring architectural designs and overseeing the complementary technical design projects, Loeb is also responsible for site administration, working closely with clients to achieve their deadline and budget objectives, finished examples of which include the New Fator 5 Plant (fragrances) and Knorr-Bremse Industrial Plant, modernization of the Ericsson Center and the Mahle Metal Leve Research and Technology Center in Jundiaí, for which, in addition to the architectural design project and site administration, he coordinated the complementary technical design projects and authored the interior design. The new Sicpa Paints and Systems Industrial Plant in Santa Cruz, Rio de Janeiro also saw Loeb in charge of pre-construction, earthworks and the tender process.

Currently in development are the architectural and technical design projects for the Danone Early Life Nutrition Factory, in Poços de Caldas, Minas Gerais state, the architectural designs for the Volta Redonda Aeroclub shopping mall and master plan on behalf of CSN – Companhia Siderúrgica Nacional,and for the Cipasa condominium urban development project in Rio das Ostras, Rio de Janeiro state, the Angus Chemical Company office and laboratories in São Paulo city, the UNIBES cultural project that includes the remodelling of the Centro da Cultura Judaica and the new Anchieta Institute Grajaú design project.

In 2012, Loeb established two new companies, LoebCapote Arquitetura e Urbanismo and Ybyraa Projetos e Gerenciamento Ltda, splitting up the tasks of architectural and urban design for the former, and site administration for the latter, with himself and Luis Capote as the principals and Damiano Leite and Chantal Longo as associate partners.

Luis Capote was born on 27th June, 1975, in São Paulo, Brazil. He graduated in Architecture from the School of Architecture and Urban Planning at Mackenzie University, in 1998.

Capote joined Roberto Loeb’s architectural firm in 2000 and has been a partner since 2004. In 2012 he founded, together with Roberto Loeb, LoebCapote Arquitetura e Urbanismo and Ybyraa, the latter focusing on project and onsite management, with the architects Damiano Leite and Chantal Longo as associate partners.

In this period he collaborated on several projects, most notably the NEN - New Natura Space and the Jewish Cultural Centre in São Paulo. Still within the cultural arena, he has coordinated other projects, such as the Santander Cultural building in Porto Alegre, Instituto Itaú Cultural, Viga Espaço Cênico and the renovation of the HSBC Cine Belas Artes cinema, in São Paulo.

Together with Roberto Loeb, he developed the social project Projeto Oficina Boracéa, a model for the rehabilitation of São Paulo’s homeless population and the restoration of the São Vito building, both on behalf of São Paulo’s municipal government.

In 2004, he participated in the organization and implementation of the Brazilian Pavilion in the 9th International Architecture Exhibition of the Venice Biennial, in Italy.

In the corporate sector, highlights include the design projects for the Canadian General Consulate, Multibrás S.A, Intersystems do Brasil, Soft Bank Latin America, Cimento Ribeirão, Cimento Tupi, restructuring of the Ericsson Centre (administrative headquarters), GP Capitales Privados de México, in Mexico city, new offices for Russel Reynolds Associates, offices for Goldman Sachs, offices for GP Investimentos -for whom the firm has done all the renovation projects since 2004 , and the offices for Ericsson Puerto Rico, which were inaugurated during the second half of 2012.

Damiano Leite
, born in São Paulo, March 1st, 1977; graduated in Architecture and Urban Planning from University of São Paulo in 2002

Began his career at Roberto Loeb e Associados in 2000 as an intern, participating in the site administration of the Natura, Cajamar-SP project and the design work for the Santander Cultural project, located in Porto Alegre-RS.

Since 2002, has taken part in architectural projects within the cultural segment, including Cine HSBC Belas Artes in São Paulo and Santander Cultural, in Porto Alegre-RS, in addition to other projects, such as águias das Cadeiras de Rodas Sports Centre, Cocamar Administrative Headquarters and social development projects, of which Oficina Boracéa, a template design for the rehabilitation of São Paulo’s homeless, and the São Vito Building renovation, both on behalf of São Paulo City Hall, are examples.

He has assisted in the development of the architectural projects for Fator 5's New Perfume Plant, PRANA Mineral Water Bottling Facility in Campos do Jordão, the New Centre of Creativity and Administrative Offices for IFF – International Flavors & Fragrances located in Alphaville-SP, Weishaupt's New Administrative Headquarters in Indaiatuba-SP, AGRENCO's Administrative and Research Buildings located in Alto Araguaia-MT and Caarapó-MS, and the remodeling of CENESP [São Paulo Business Centre], urban project for the residential condo of Grupo Equipav.

Coordinated architectural and complementary technical design projects, as well as the site administration and monitoring of on-site works for MAHLE Metal Leve's New Technology and Research Centre in Jundiaí - SP, inaugurated in June, 2009; AVON's New Distribution Centre in the state of São Paulo; remodeling of Paulista Top Centre in São Paulo; Grupo Equipav's Residential Lots in Piracicaba - SP; Ericsson's Industrial Park and Warehouse Centre in São José dos Campos-SP.

He currently manages the construction and design teams for the new Danone Early Life Nutrition Industrial Unit in Poços de Caldas – MG, for the modernization of the CENESP façades, the architectural team for the Air Club Shopping Mall and Master Plan in Volta Redonda – RJ for the CSN (National Siderurgical Company) and the urban design project for the Cipasa condominium in Rio das Ostras – RJ, the team for the development of the office and laboratory designs for Angus Chemical Company in São Paulo – SP, the cultural project for UNIBES with the reformulation of the headquarters of the Centro da Cultura Judaica and the new design project for the Anchieta Institute Grajaú.

In 2002, he was invited by architects Roberto Loeb and Luis Capote to be a partner in the new firms LoebCapote Arquitetura e Urbanismo and Ybyraa, a project and on-site management firm.

Chantal Longo, born in Botucatu, in 1981, graduated in Architecture and Urban Planning from Paulista University, Bauru Campus, in 2006.

She accepted a position as architect at Roberto Loeb and Associates in 2009, participating in the development of architectural designs and undertaking site administration duties in the corporate sector, for such projects as the remodeling of the Ericsson Centre and the renovation of the Top Centre, both in São Paulo - SP. Also collaborated in the projects for Avon's New Distribution Centre in the state of São Paulo and the remodeling of CENESP [São Paulo Business Centre].

Participated in the project designs for the New Cocamar Administration Centre in Maringá - PR, the conceptual projectfor the expansion of Espaço Natura's New Production Plants in Cajamar - SP, the project of Knorr-Bremse's New Industrial Plant in Brasil, in Itupeva - SP; the project for the supermarket Pão de Açúcar Nova Aliança, in Ribeirão Preto - SP, the project for Bayer's Bridge over the Guarapiranga Canal in São Paulo - SP, and the project for Bayer's Eco Commercial Building with innovative and efficient solutions for the construction of sustainable buildings.

Coordinated the development of the architectural and complementary technical projects, in addition to supervising on-site works for the new Banco Santander Data Centre for Latin America, which is being executed in Campinas - SP, and has a built area of approximately 80,000m2 ,for the architectural and technical projects for SICPA Paints and Systems' Industrial Plant in Santa Cruz - RJ, project for the remodelling of the façades and accessibility for CENESP - Centro Empresarial de São Paulo, the MRV-LOG Office Park project in Pirituba – SP, retrofitting the existing buildings and the new buildings, totalling an area of approximately 165.000 m2. He also coordinated the construction and design teams for the new ThyssenKrupp Presta Camshaft Industrial Plant in Poços de Caldas – MG,

Currently coordinates the construction and design teams for the new Danone Early Life Nutrition Industrial Unit in Poços de Caldas – MG, the architectural team for the Air Club Shopping Mall and Master Plan in Volta Redonda – RJ for the CSN (National Siderurgical Company) and the construction teams for the modernization of the CENESP façades.

Postgraduate course in Project Management in Vanzolini Foundation – Poli/USP in progress, conclusion scheduled August 2015.

In 2012 was invited by architects Roberto Loeb and Luis Capote to be a partner in the new firms LoebCapote Arquitetura e Urbanismo and Ybyraa, a project and on-site management firm.

Prior to joining Roberto Loeb e Associados, she worked for three years (2003-2006) at Empreiteira Resiplan participating actively in acquiring PBQP-H [Brazilian Housing Quality and Productivity Program] and NBR ISSO 9001:2000 standards. She was a member of the group who brought up the strategic plan responsible for doubling the company’s revenues, over a 24 months period, by improving the quality and productivity of the services rendered.
