IAI Most Creativity Award
Project Name:McDonalds Paraíso
Winner name:
Superlimão
Introduction:
The choice for this project was to use engineered wood, from the ceiling to the floor, which significantly reduced the carbon footprint, since wood absorbs carbon dioxide instead of releasing it into the atmosphere. Since a significant portion of the wood is concealed by coverings, an opening was incorporated into the design for the walls to convey to visitors that the internal structure is made of wood. Furthermore, this project is based on the prefabrication technique, with a portion of the construction taking place inside an industrial warehouse, so the prefabricated pieces are assembled one by one. This method resulted in minimizing material losses, reducing energy consumption and diminishing the impact on the region, providing a quieter construction environment and a shorter construction schedule, making the process more efficient.
