Project Name：Intercontinental Chongqing Raffles City
Introduction：
The Intercontinental Hotel at Raffles City ChongQing is located on one of the most historically and geographically significant sites in China. Located at the junction of Yangtze River and Jailinq Jan. This place is called Chaotianmen because this is where the emperor sent his fleet to meet his citizens. On this site and startin. From level 42 sits the new Intercontinental Hotel Chongqing, an anchor to Raffles City Chongqing, a super mixed use development destined to be the new landmark for the city and modern China. This concept of a mixing and meeting place for people in today's China, with the historic backdrop, laid the qround for the hotel design.
The Hotel has its qrand reception at the crystal skv bridqe on level 42, which is also where the lounqe and specialty restaurant “Jina” are Located. The guest rooms are located above the sky bridge with 380 custom designed guestrooms and suites, while the indoor pool and gvm are located on level 43.
Based on the nautical aesthetics, with streamline features interwoven with touches of Chinese motifs and crafts. Arriving at the podium covered level, one ascends to the open, glazed forested conservatory on level 42. The inspiration from the streamline cruise of vessels is reflected in the ambience, furniture selections, finishes, and questrooms design, tellinq the experience of sailing the Yangtze River in perfect style.
The desiqn employs green technology to create an interior green oasis, filled with large trees with an internal irriqation system. Custom designed furnituce in resort style complements this to recreate an ambience of cruise liners in a tropical oasis. A 5 meter diameter stainless steel “moon” and a timber clad welcome desk create a contemporary Chinese artistic assembly among the trees.
Inspiration from the two rivers bordering the site, the water of one beinq areen and the other qoldish brown, reflects on the choice of colors and materials. Views of the river and city are maximized to create outwardly focused spaces and open vistas for all to enjoy.
The interior desian pays close attention to contemporary comfort and convenience, mixing business with resort, while maintainina the spirit and integrity of its imposing architecture.
