IAI Design Award

To ensure that the applicant and the participants meet the eligibility criteria, please follow the steps below to complete the registration process
All entries' information entered on the official APDF website must be in both Chinese and English.



The first step:
Sign up for an account:Applicants must log in to the official APDF website to register as an APDF member. If your registration is approved, you will receive an APDF member application confirmation letter within 2 working days. Then, you can log in to APDF member space according to the member ID and password. The results of the assessments and the winner list will also be checked through the member space. Please keep your account ID and password carefully.

Note: If you wish to become a full member of APDF, you can check the box in the online membership application form and choose to be our full member according to the member category options. Full members can enjoy a 30% discount on the entry fee for early and regular registration.


The second step:
Upload your entries:Please click 'here' to log into the APDF official website to enter the member space and start uploading your entries for the first assessment( please check the entry category in the 'entry works' column when you upload your entries). We will send the notification of the result of the pre-examination and the application fee to your membership's email address as soon as your pre-approval of the IAI Design Award has been approved by the judging panel. (note: all images are required to be at 350dpi resolution, and full-scale photos are required to be at least 10 images.)



The third step:

Choose the payment method and pay the entry fee (including the first round assessment fee) :

Please refer to the letter of request for payment to select the method of payment. If you choose to pay by bank wire transfer or bank transfer, you will have to pay your own local bank charges, which will be reflected in the bill. We only accept payment in RMB and US dollars. Please ensure that the amount received is the same as the amount requested in the letter of notification. All international remittance fees and other taxes and duties will be borne by the participants. If you need to provide formal invoices/receipts, please email iai-award@iai-ap.org.

(special reminder: if you remit money in the name of the company, the organizing committee can provide China Local Tax unified invoice (1% tax point) or receipt; if you remit money in the name of a person, you can only issue a receipt).

The fourth step:

First round of judging:The juries will conduct the first round of online assessments according to the category of the competition. Participants may log in to the member space on 4th June to view the results of the first round.


If your work passes the first round of judging

PartiApplicants are requested to submit the following information according to the requirements of the competition to the organizing committee’s Mail Box: iai-award@iai-ap.org, and pay the exhibition fee for the judging. The deadline is 31st June 2021.

2. High-definition photos of entries (300DPI):

Interior Design:

l Actual project-work plan, scenes and sketches, the number of photos is 10-20, the number of scenes is not less than 6;

lProject-plan, renderings and sketches, etc., the number of photos is 10-20, the number of renderings is not less than 6.

Architectural Design:
Design plan (general layout, floor plan), renderings, sketches, photographed images, analysis graphics, cross-section drawings, and structural details. The number of pictures is 15-20.

Intelligent Architecture Design:

Industrial Product Design:

Renderings, dimensional drawings, detailed drawings, necessary structure drawings, physical dimensions and so on.

Visual communication, service design: general renderings, partial renderings, design description, work name, etc. The number of photos is 1-6.

Fashion Design:

Physical photos, renderings, structural drawings or process drawings or accessory structure drawings, design instructions, etc.

Digital Media:

Video Time: The length of the video is 1 minute -- 30 minutes; the format includes, but is not limited to, microinterviews, microrecordings, animations, scientific experiments, talk shows, microfilms, etc.


3. Designer's photo or company's logo

Note: Personal photo is preferred, the half-length is better; company's logo, memory is not less than 3M, 300dpi.


The fifth step:
The second round of judging:The second assessment will be conducted by the judging team on the spot according to the design entries. The participants can log in to the member space on 10th December, 2021, to view the results of the second assessment.

※ Special remind
Confirmation of Registration: According to the three-time periods of application for the competition, including the preferential period for early application, the preferential period for regular application and the late application, entries must be submitted by three different submission deadlines. During the registration period, you may contact the contest organizing committee at any time to confirm or cancel the registration. However, if you cancel the entry after the deadline for submission of entry information, you will have to pay the entry fee.

  3. Edit and confirm the award-winning information

  1. 1Confirmation of award public information:

    Winners must log on to the member space within a specified time to complete the editing and confirmation of all award information, which will be published on the event home page.

    2、Confirm the information for certification and yearbook:

    All award-winning entries will be published in the official yearbook. Please log on to the membership website of APDF within a specified time to check whether the certificate information is correct or not. If the information is right, then you will need to submit high-definition photos of the award-winning works for yearbook publishing.

  2. Edit information about the award-winning exhibition

    1、Results of the second assessment:

    All entries which pass the second assessment wins the IAI Design Award and must attend the exhibition of the IAI Design Award presented by the organizers.

    2、Confirmation of award-winning exhibition:

    Log in to the Entry side, select and submit the appropriate display package. Meanwhile, you also need to select and confirm the relevant transportation, distribution / the mode of withdrawal.

    3、Payment of exhibition/yearbook publication:

    The organizer will send the bill by email and letter. Please pay on time as required.


Select the way of transportation/distribution for the winning entries

After passing the second assessment, winners are required to bring the award-winning entries to the exhibition venue on the specified date and finish the exhibition within the specified time.


Please do not send the works directly to the exhibition venue by post, as each winning item has a designated place in the exhibition venue and the works need to be displayed in the best way to express their characteristics. Please bring your award-winning works to the venue by yourself or the agent (company) you appointed and complete the procedures of unpacking, move-in, move-out, repacking and mailing.

1. Official designated agents

The official designated agent will be responsible for the completion of the installation/removal of the exhibition. Winners are required to fill in the service application form on time and send the award-winning works to the designated place after completing the remittance.
2. Complete the installation/removal by themselves
Winners are required to go to the exhibition venue to complete the layout/withdrawal procedures.
3. Appoint an agent or person to complete the installation/removal of the exhibition
An agent or person appointed by the winner is required to enter the venue and complete the layout/withdrawal action. If you choose an official designated agent to complete the layout/withdrawal procedures, please read the following documents carefully and complete the procedures as required.


Notice to exhibitors:

* Please do not send the entries (in kind) directly to the organizer’s office (IAI Design Award office). The organizer can not be responsible for any accident (such as loss, damage or misdelivery, etc.) that occurs during transportation.

* Your entry qualification for the following assessment will be canceled automatically if your entry works fail to transport to the exhibition venue and fail to complete the exhibition before the deadline. However, you still have to pay the assessment fee for the second assessment.
