The head of the Shanghai branch of the International Dark Sky Association (IDA), a member of the North American Illumination Engineering Society (IESNA), a member of the International Relations Committee, a senior member of the China Illumination Society, a member of the Intelligent Control Professional Committee, a member of the Shanghai Illumination Society, a member of the Popularization Committee, a landscape industry evaluation expert in Shanghai, and a member of the Nanjing Nightscape Brightening Improvement Think Tank Committee.


Frank F. Guo, LC, MSc, PhD Candidate, is one of China’s leading lighting designers and consultants. His expertise comes from an extensive background in urban lighting masterplan and architectural lighting design. As an educator, Frank teaches lighting design and instructs graduate students at several universities in China. He is also a guest lecturer for the certificate program of CIES registered lighting designer. In the past 25 years, Frank has developed, edited and updated lighting standards, design guides and technical regulations for various clients. He has led and participated many research projects related with lighting and light pollution. Many of his research findings have been published in Chinese and international journals.
